Orange Peel Regatta
Preparing to round the windward mark at the Orange Regatta in Jacksonville Florida.

I think this is called a spinnaker broach. Note the rudder popping out of the water and the fear on our faces. Elliot is in the process of releasing the kicking strap/vang which allowed the boom to rise and the boat to right itself. We had just completed a gybe and managed to recover from this with only a foot or two of water in the bottom of the boat :)

A nice shot of the fleet against the Jacksonville skyline. The boat on the right is Mike Ingham's who won the regatta and is the national champion. We, I am afraid are way off at the back of the fleet after another bad start.
